Metquotes is a an application using which you can generate stock reports and use your technical analysis skills to find the best stock to invest in for the next day, or to invest for long-term , by seeing the stock graphs in metastock professional 7.0 onwards.
Metquotes not only offers stock market EOD data, which is actually taken from www.nseindia.com, but also gives intra-day stock market tips during market hours. |

Metquotes Professional application is a very powerful application, it has a two in one built-in feature.
a) Technical analysis , and report generation tools,
b) Instant messaging service for intra-day traders and short to medium term investors as well.
All the client/trader is supposed to do is , login into METQUOTES Pro, at 9:55am and remain logged into it till the market closes at 3:30pm, between market hours the client/trader will receive pop-up messages in a window with alert sound, in less than 15sec.
The metquotes instant messaging service can only be use to get messages, you cannot send message to anyone on internet, its only a one way messag receiving service, provided by Bookprofit.com |

Metquotes messenger is the same as instant messaging service in METQUOTES Pro, the metquotes messenger is being provided seperately for those traders who dont want the technical analysis features. This application has only instant messaging service for indian stock market, and later on commodities services will also be launched in it. |

Operating systems on which this software can, and will work are :
Winxp home, WinXp professional, Windows 2000, Windows 2000 Pro, Win Me, Win 98 SE.
All these operating systems should have .net framework 1.1 installed.
Some OS's which dont have MDAC installed, then your application while installation might ask for MDAC as well.
All these extra files i.e. .net framework 1.1 and MDAC can be downloaded from this website only. |

For support you need to add bookprofitcom in your yahoo messenger and explain your problem
related to your OS, and installation, the problem gets sorted out 99% in a few minutes, and 1% chances
are that it might take a few days. ( approx 5-10 days) |

the login/pass of the paid license of metquotes which was installed First time on the machine
will be and can be used only on that machine. Your account is machine specific, this is a security feature of METQUOTES, so that people are not able to misuse this application.
Although misuse cannot be stopped, but this feature reduces it to some extent. |

These are the steps you need to follow , in order to set the date of the system, its not an error, its basically a requirement/setting , these are the steps to follow:
Before making this setting, please close all the applications running on your computer.
1. Go to Control Panel select Regional and Language Options.
2 . In the Regional and Language option select Customize.
3 . Then in Customize Regional option select Date tab
4 . Select Short Date Format as M/D/YYYY
After this , you can log off and log in again, no need to restart the machine. |

For first time download, it takes roughly 25min to download and sort the data in the format of METASTOCK Pro, so that metastock software is able to accept the data, and then you will be able to see it in their software, the graphs of all stocks.
For the first time when you are downloading the EOD data, it takes time, since the data is huge, and there are roughly more than 1000 scrips traded daily , as of the date 24-11-06, when this FAQ is being written.
After the EOD data is downloaded to present date, for the first time, then from next day onwards the time for downloading the EOD will be very less which is approx 3-4min and 2-3min for sorting the data , so approx 6min it takes for EOD data for a number of days updation.
